Thanks to the more than 200 volunteers, supporters, new neighbors and elected leaders who joined us at the First Fall Family Picnic on Sunday, September 15 to celebrate Welcoming Week and the welcoming movement here in Westchester County. It was a spectacular day - and the weather was gorgeous too! Thanks to everyone who gave their time to organize, and special thanks to Westchester County Parks Department for making this day possible at Saxon Woods.

Thanks also to Ballchain Manufacturing in Mount Vernon and 4 Corners Pizzeria in Pelham for their generous contributions of beverages and pizza!

Wonderful memories for all who were there! Did you miss it? We hope the pics inspire even more folks to mark their calendars early next year!

Check out our Facebook group for many more pictures!

We were thrilled to have U.S. Representative Elliot Engel (NY 16th District) join us at the picnic. A co-sponsor of the GRACE Act (which proposes an annual admissions of 95,000 refugees) and the NO BAN Act (which as the name implies, aims to repeal Trump's Muslim ban), Representative Engel has long been a stalwart ally of refugees and immigrants. We are fortunate to have him as the Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

His remarks are below. Next time you see or write Engel, please thank him for his support of refugees!
