Winter Drive a Huge Success!

Winter Drive recap.png

Hundreds of refugees will be warm and dry this winter thanks to volunteers and organizations from throughout the Lower Hudson Valley who came together for the Winter Coat & Boot Drive led by both Hearts & Homes for Refugees and Neighbors for Refugees. What a huge success! Thanks to overwhelming volunteer and donor support, we were able to serve over 750 refugees.

More than 100 individual volunteers including representatives from the American Muslim Women's Association, Sarah Lawrence College, Students for Refugees, the STAR Project, of United Nations International School, Junior League of Pelham, GYNC, Riverdale Y and Zonta all lent a hand. Hundreds of folks (coming not only from Westchester, but also from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Pawling, Cold Spring, Pound Ridge, Armonk  and more) donated new and gently used coats. And of course, we could not have done it without our partners at Neighbors For Refugees and our hosts at St. John's Episcopal Church, Larchmont.

We are proud to support Catholic Charities of New York, HIAS-NY, IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services and Elena's Light with these efforts. The donations were so generous that we were also able to provide warm gear to our friends at Hope Community Services in New Rochelle. And thanks to a generous donation from the Build-A-Bear Foundation, we also provided cozy bears to hundreds of children.

AN ENORMOUS THANKS TO ALL!!!

While the coat & boot collection is over, your support of refugees is still very much welcome. Please explore our website to learn more or donate.
